London Fashion Week SS16 Roundup

With the avalanche of fashion weeks around the world, as expected LFW SS16 came and took all of the fashion world by storm! With several new labels popping in and several old one’s displaying a completely new take on fashion, this season was yet another joyride.

As the front rowers, models, avant-garde designers and fashion critics drift away from the LFW euphoria, we are here with a few of our favourite collections of this season.

Frills, sheer fabrics and floral detailing in silver jacquard and rustic appliqué ruled the ramp at Erdem’s SS16 collection. Models in pretty dresses walked in effortlessly one after another mesmerizing the crowd and we must say we were cast under their spell.

We are still trying to get our handle after seeing the Burberry collection this season! The accessories especially had us asking for more, be it the bags with chunky golden buckle detailing or the classy detailed footwear. Coats with beautiful golden cording really made their presence felt, while lace and sheer took a front row to take the charm even further.

Jonathan Saunders went ahead proving yet again that he does colours and prints like no one else. Bright, nude, eye-popping the colour palette was as crazy as it was pleasing. Paisleys, florals and stripes all were collaborated wonderfully into the collection to give way to kimono jackets, slip dresses and everything in between.

The label, Ashish can take you with surprise by using their staple element – sequins in absolutely distinct ways with each collection. This time their collection witnessed a skateboarder theme running through it, along with the good old discs of glitter. The models looked like pixies with skateboards, in their track pants and flowy dresses paired with shiny sneakers.

Models donned silver metal accessories be it ear danglers, nose rings or buttons. The collection saw asymmetric dresses with trailing skirts to leather separates and a minimal use of colours apart from the monochrome scheme. What started with Anthony Vaccarello’s first Versus collection, was taken a notch further this season. Yet another leaf was added to the glorious history of the famed fashion house, Versace.

On a parting note, we can only say that this fashion week has geared us up for the season and delightfully so! Watch out for this space for more excitement from the Milan and Paris fashion weeks and much more.
